On 14 September 2026, the northern Rakovník bypass – a diversion of the II/237 road, designed by METROPROJEKT Praha a.s. – was officially opened. This project was funded by the Central Bohemian Region with support from EU funds, and the investor is the Regional Road Administration and Maintenance Authority.
The new section is approximately 1.8 kilometres long and connects the roads on Lišanská and Luženská streets, running parallel to Luženská street. The bypass is linked to the existing road network via shorter sections leading from roundabouts – there are three of these as part of the project. The project also includes junctions and one bridge structure.
The event was organised as a construction site open day, so residents of Rakovník in particular were able to enjoy the new road even before motorists did.
Ing. David Krása, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, cut the ribbon on behalf of METROPROJEKT Praha a.s.
