Construction began today on the second section of the I.D metro line in Prague, between Olbrachtova and Nové Dvory. The project, costing nearly 30 billion Kč, includes three stations (Nádraží Krč, Nemocnice Krč, and Nové Dvory). As part of the project, tunnels will be driven from the Písnice depot to the Olbrachtova station. In the section between the Písnice depot and Nádraží Krč, single-track tunnels with a total length of 9.6 km (2 × 4.8 km) will be driven using mechanized tunnel boring machines. In the Krč Station–Olbrachtova section, tunneling will be carried out using the New Austrian Tunneling Method; the single-track tunnels will be 1,500 m long (2 × 750 m).

Construction is expected to be completed and the line put into operation—including the Pankrác–Olbrachtova section currently under construction—in 2032.
