The new, extended metro line A represents a reliable, fast and secure transport to the city centre and a connection of Prague International Airport to the city centre as well. The design activities started in November 2007, open to public in April 2015.

Basic technical information - stations and tunnels 

Nemocnice Motol Station

  • Excavated cut-and-cover station with side platform and reserve siding rails
  • Platform level 0 – 6 m under the surface, total length of the station is 167 m
  • Total lengths of siding rails is 406 m
  • Exit to vestibule and to subway under the Kukulova Street enables direct pedestrian way to the bus line stops and entrance to the hospital
  • Second exit from the platform to the Street Kukulova may be the entrance to the Hospital Motol as well as can be used for the planned future hospital area extension
  • Station Nemocnice Motol is temporary terminus of metro line A

 Petřiny Station

  • Mined single span structure station with intermediate platform, station with siding and reverse rails
  • Platform level is 38,5 m under the surface, total length of the station is 217m
  • Exit by escalators to the surface vestibule at the crossing Na Petřinách Street and Bruncvikova Street with the tram line and bus line platforms
  • Second exit by lift to the underground hall at Bruncvikova Street leads to the Petřiny residential area, this hall could be walked out by lift and stairs

 Nádraží Veleslavín Station

  • Mined three span structure station with intermediate platform
  • Platform level is 20,4 m under the surface, total length of the station is 201m
  • Exit by escalators to the vestibule at the crossing of Evropská Street and the Veleslavínská Street with the tram line and new bus terminal
  • Vestibule with direct connection to the railway track station Praha -Veleslavín

 Bořislavka Station

  • Mined single span structure station with intermediate platform
  • Platform level is 28,6 m under the surface, total length of the station is 193 m
  • Exit by escalators to the vestibule and to the subway at the crossing Evropská Street and Horoměřická Street (Liberijská) Street with the tram and the bus lines platforms
  • Second exit by lift into the subway hall under the Evropská Street with the connection to the southern and northern part of Červený Vrch residential sector (in the direction to Kamerunská and Arabská streets).

Running tunnel sections

Single track running tunnels were tunnelled by EPB TBM technology; short sections of running tunnels were performed by NRTM technology.
