Charakteristika
The existing relay-based interlockings no longer meet today’s requirements, particularly with regard to their future integration into the Continuous Block Train Control (CBTC) system, i.e., for driverless operation. The task of the current modernization is therefore not only to replace outdated technologies with modern, more reliable, and easier-to-maintain systems, but also to ensure operational continuity. A complete replacement of signaling equipment while the metro is in full operation has never before been carried out on such a scale in the history of the Prague Metro.
The project’s scope covers 14 metro stations within the Háje–Vltavská section and the Line C depot. Of course, due to the interconnectivity of the signaling systems, interventions are also necessary at adjacent stations on other lines, as well as at the central control center and its remote control system. The project is divided into five phases, with implementation scheduled for the period 2024–2027.
